Cree Elder Emily Henry, a respected member of the Ochapowace Nation, has made significant contributions to the criminal justice system. Her innovative rehabilitation programs, now implemented for federally incarcerated male Indigenous offenders across Canada, have been instrumental in addressing criminal behaviours. Her exceptional work has been acknowledged with multiple awards, including the 2017 Distinguished Alumni from the University of the Fraser Valley and the 2024 YWCA’s Distinguished Woman of the Year. Emily is a former instructor at 69ÌÃ. She generously shares her wisdom and experience, providing a wide range of services, including counselling, workshops, and emcee services throughout BC and Canada, demonstrating her commitment to the well-being of her community.
